  1. Sorry AT... wish I had an answer. Just like routing TO the US is controlled by RACSA, anything FROM the US is controlled by that server group... Simply not possible to analyze.

I did report your problem and the others to RACSA (through a good connection I know) a few hours ago.... it is possible they have fixed the routers.

In any case.... the problem for now has disappeared.

    TG

Thanks for looking into this and reporting the problem to RACSA.

  2. ATPCAL

No... that is not the issue. Those servers are co-located and the issue is with your tracert program.

YOUR issue is 100% RACSA.... and may be affecting your entire company.

So, why was only the ARCR forum site slow in loading? I say was because the problem appears to have been solved at least for me. Now tracert run from my machine (on a Mac using either the terminal command or the network utility) completes all hops to forums.arcr.net and the pages load faster than they did earlier.

  3. ATPCAL Apparently you want to keep your IP private... which is fine... but without it, I can not backtrace from the server... So in order to protect your privacy... the last two digits of your IP are: 255.4 - Let me know only if I am not correct.

That's the correct ending of the IP address for the gateway I am using. While the packet loss may contribute to the slowness of the transmission speed, according to the traceroute I ran (ran again today also), the problem appears to be the connectivity between sc-smv2460.servint.net and cp.blackcoralgroup.net, both of which are located on servers in the US.

I manually stopped the traceroute as it was taking too long to make the last hop (deduced from TG's traceroute).

So, at least for me, the problem is at the last hop, from sc-smv2460.servint.net to cp.blackcoralgroup.net

Hope this helps in getting the problem resolved.

  5. I pay in U.S. dollars and am subject to the 15% increase each year. The attorney who collects my rent says there is no legal restriction on raising the rent if paid in dollars, it is only a "courtesy." If someone has access to a law that says it cannot be imposed I would like to show it to the attorney.

Look at the last paragraph of article 67 of Law 7527 at the following link (Official site of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Costa Rica):

    http://www.asamblea.go.cr/ley/ley7000.htm

    Loose translation:

If the rent is in a foreign currency, then the rent cannot be adjusted during the term of the contract.
