I came across you wonderful website recently. If I may, I would like a little advice from a knowledgeable person. Sometime in the near future I plan on closing on 4 house lots that are part of a 17 lot sub-division, all owned together under one SA. What exactly should I receive from them so I know the process is correct and legal? I am also under the impression that I should create a separate SA for each lot. I really appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

I pray that you get a Costa Rican lawyer to represent you. One that has no association with the seller.

I guess you didn't care for the answer I gave you for this same question in your email to me, so good luck finding the answer you are looking for, and have the courtesy to not waste any more of my time as I really don't need practice in helping people - OK ....

I sent my question in a couple of different places. I didn't know who might answer or who might not. Your reply here is very revealing about you. I never heard anyone say they don't need practice helping people. Understand that helping people has a way of returning in business later. But I don't want to waste your time

Mr "shoot from the hip" Wylie -

this reply of your's could only be credible if the time & date stamps didn't confirm that your post was after the email exchange - see how that works ?

You can't sell 'lots' and 'shares' you get one or the other. Good luck

WYLIEBOY As to your personal message [I'm a little confused. The subdivision consists of 17 lots, all owned under one SA. I thought if I had an attorney create a separate SA for each of the 4 lots I'm looking at, they could be transferred properly. Exactly how would you go about it thought?] There is a 99.95% chance that the 17 'lots' that they are trying to sell, and the 4 you are looking at are one lot. If title could be transferred, then yes you could hold it as you see fit.

This is something that you want a VERY sharp and very trustworthy CR attorney to handle for you. You may even want to have a 2nd attorney double check what the 1st attorney says or does.

Thank you all. It's great to have this forum. You are right, Sabo. All 17 lots are still presently being held by one SA. The SA is waiting for water approval from AYA. That seems to be the last hurdle

As an airport bum I have gotten to know a number of folks that are building there own airplanes. They all say that they are 90% done with 90% more to go. Take your time, I would wait to give them any monies until the lots are split and on the books in San Jose. Thats just me. Good luck, I know you would like a place here but there are those that will scam you any way they can.
