Pat: Point Spread as of this minute:

Broncos -4.5

Seahawks +3.5

This will change by kick-off time.

Oh, A WINNER in the above senario will be IF the Broncos win by a least 5 points and the Seahawks by 4 points. I am taking the 49ers to cover the "point spread", so, if the Seahawks only win by 3 points I WIN!

I've got to go with a "Patriots" win. This is a game of the two best Quarter-backs playing in the NFL. If it turns out to be a Ground Game, as we saw in last weeks games, I'd pick New England by 3 and take the Under 55. If it is a passing game, I've got to go with the over.

The 49ers are emotional favorite having lived there for 10yrs. Surprisingly the Over/Under is only 35.

PRAY FOR SNOW IN DENVER SUNDAY!!!!

First: Seahawks!

Second: Has anyone been to the ChiChi's in Heredia by PriceSmart? I'm trying to think of where to go to watch the game ... I've a feeling they're probably pretty pricey. Anyone know about that? I can see their menu online, but it doesn't list prices. (warning, warning). There's a place called Nacho's in Heredia ... considering them too, but have never been there, if anyone has the scoop on them.

Or if anyone has any suggestions of a good place to watch the game somewhere near Heredia or the eastern side of it, that would be cool.

So it looks like we might head to SJ for the games today ... we normally avoid that, as the esposo has to go to SJ 5 days a week by bus already, and the buses that come home late at night for us bring us through Heredia, which seems to always take about 72 and a half hours. But ... it's the playoffs, whoo-hoo.

We're probably going to hit Chubbs in SJ, or Ricks. (However, if anyone knows of anyplace fun in Heredia or Alajuela, I wouldn't mind avoiding that trip home from SJ ...) Anyone else heading out to watch the action? Go Hawks!

Seahawks-49ers Game; did you see the last play in which 49er player Crabtree had the ball batted away in the Seahawk end zone. Talk about a game which came down to an inch or two in NOT having the ball batted away.

Anyhow, it was a great game and I take the Broncos to win this year's Superbowl.

With Manning as the Quarterback the Broncos will win the Superbowl. There will be no load stadium and it won't be just Wilson and Lynch. Manning has multiple receivers and running backs.

I see the Broncos favorable point-spread dropped to 2.5 points. I have changed my original pick and now will take the Seahawks to cover the spread.

Also, this may be another "Ice Bowl" as the weathermen prediction is that a "Polar Express" may blow through New York next Sunday!

So what's everybody doing for the Super Bowl? Election day is the same day, so the esposo is working as a fiscal, and since my Seahawks are playing ... we shall be going our separate ways that day. We went to Chubbs in SJ for the championship games, but ... that area at night alone ... meh. Not really feeling it. I keep thinking of that Chi-Chi's in Heredia, but they don't publish prices, so not sure. Also "they say' that the Fiesta Casino near the airport alwyas does a good SB night, but ... I don't know, a casino? Not really the casino type. What good places do you guys know about?

Tiffany,

I don't know for sure about the Fiesta Casino as an option, but they have a big room on the south that opens into the Casino area where they have weekend shows and dancing. I've been there once with friends for a weekend show and it was so loud I should have brought earplugs, but since I didn't, I had to leave. But all the ticos were having a GREAT! time dancing and partying and it was full up!

Anyway that is the area I'm guessing in the Casiono where they'd hold a SuperBowl gathering.

You might call and ask or if passing thru the Alajuela area stop in to see the layout and ask.

I'm sure that if they are having a Super Bowl 'do' you'd need reservations, since you do for the weekend dances they hold.

Just a thought for a venue.

Paul M.

On Superbowl Sunday, along with voting for the next CR President, I plan on being home and firing-up my Weber Smokey Mountain(WSM) Cooker and smoke a couple of chickens and some Ribs. For me, the Superbowl starts too late to be about and with a ton of commericals lasts about four(4) hours plus.

As to the Fiesta Casino; I have not be there for a long time but as recall it was a nice place to watch some American Football, however, there were very few "cheap" eats and drinks.

The wife and I like the "Club Colonial Casino" in downtown SJ to watch some football and has very good eats at reasonable prices, i.e., around $40.00 for eats and a few drinks for 2.

Go Seahawks! I am really a die-hard SF 49er fan but if the Seahawks cover the point spread the wife and I will eat FREE on Superbowl Sunday!

One of the worst Superbowls for the watching TV public unless you were a hardcore Seahawks Fan! The CR Presidential election results were much more exciting.

It was truly painful to watch late in the first half... Seahawks got way ahead... Good for them. Bad for a tight game.

In the second half there were many long pauses in the streaming. (Don't know if others experienced the same on Fox Sports streaming?)

We even missed seeing the Bronco's scoring... when the streaming caught back up it was already on the scoreboard.
