Andy in Spain
I watched an interesting programme this morning regarding the future for Bio Fuels and the general opinion was that Palm oil and reap seed oil amongst others were going to play an increasingly important role in the future. I understand that in tropical Asia palm oil production is on the increase with little or no regard for the native flora and fauna and I wanted to know how Costa Rica regards the future and do they have plans to increase production. I would also be interested to know what is the current value of this oil. Being a palm enthusiat I have also heard of a new hybrid oil palm that grows a little shorter than the current palms therefore being safer to harvest but also has an increased yield. Any information would be interesting.
