Looking for long term beach rental

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

We will be arriving in about 2 weeks for our first reconissance trip and we are looking to see what we can rent for the long term at the beach, Pacific side. Our plan when we arrive is to drive as much of the Pacific side as we can in a week and try to get a feel for where we want to live. We can then focus on finding something in that more speicfic area. We are open if someone has a suggestion. We are on a medium budget and would really get excited if our accomodations included a pool and internet. Thanks for any help.

Hi Michael,

What is your time frame? We are building two houses south of Quepos and they probably will be done somewhere around October; we will live in one and rent the other. They are about 2km from the beach and have a gorgeous ocean view; there will be a pool, satellite internet. The only down side of the property is it is on the intercoastal highway which right now is in rough condition; however, they have started a large grading and bridge refurbishing project which I'm hoping by October will make the road a lot easier to navigate. Not sure what we'll rent it for, haven't got that far yet! If you're interested, contact me and I'll send you pictures.

Hi Cindy, Thanks for your response. We would very much like to see the photos of your property. We arrive in San Jose in around 10 days, we're going to do the ARCR seminar for two days and then we were going to head down to Jaco and spend around a week exploring for rentals and price ranges, stores, medical facilities, etc. Quepos is right down the street.

We have basiclly decided that we are going to initiate our pensionado resendency request immediately upon return from our trip. How did you decide on Quepos? Have you spent much time in that area and what can you tell us that would further our preliminary assessment that that area is one of the best for beach living on the Pacific Coast? Again thanks for your time.

Hi Michael,

Cindy, one additional question. We're sure we're going to love it down there and we want to relocate ASAP but we understand it takes some time for the residency to be accomplished. I seem to remember reading that you can't apply for pensionado residency while living down there. We are anxious to make this move so it's possible that if there is a way to do it legally, we could move down temporarily while waiting for our residency and then come back to Arizona if necessary to finish up and complete selling our home. Any advice on this would be welcome. Thanks again.

Hello Micheal:

We have a rental in Playa Tambor in a gated beach front community. Our 2bd 2bath villa has a brand new pool and is on a 9 hole golf course. We are an 8 min walk to the beach and a 2 min walk to the club house where there is internet service.

Assuming you're a nice person who would like to live in a nice area... don't spend more than an hour in Jaco. You could start in Playa Hermosa (5km south of Jaco) and work your way down to near Uvita, or go to Guanacaste-maybe you'll prefer the area from Playa Carillo to Playa Coco. You will need more than a week to really explore the Guanacaste options, because they are so varied.
