Beauregard
I will soon be applying for "Permanent Resident Status" as an investor. My question is this. After I receive Permanent Resident Status, I would like to acquire a concession in the maritime zone on which to build condos. It is my understanding that a foreigner cannot own more than 50% of a concession unless he has been a resident for 5 years. This said, it is also my understanding that a Permanent Resident has all the rights of a Costa Rican citizen except the right to vote in National elections. If this is true, then should the 5 year residency requirement for concession ownership go away? Please let me know your thoughts.
TicoGrande
I will soon be applying for "Permanent Resident Status" as an investor. First: You cannot obtain Permanent Residency as a investor. You can be an investor and change to Perm. res. after some years. Check with your lawyer. As for Maritime Property: First read This and then This Both are important. TG
