Having lived in the US Virgin Islands for years where your source of household water is a cistern, I was wondering if they are common in CR.
Also is there a supply of water (companies selling water) for when the cistern runs low?

Cisterns are not generally used here although some folks use them painted black for hot water. Tap water is available just about everywhere unless you live in the boonies. TG
