tibas9 0
Watching the "Sunday Morning Program" with Charles Ozgood the-other-day in which one of the more interesting topics had-to-do with the many USA Political Discontents unhappy with the USA Election Results on November 8th may be making a mad dash to Canada in order to seek Residency and which another type of "Wall" may be needed by the Canadian Powers-to-BE at the USA-Canada Border. Tom and Marcia 0
The whole issue of a border wall is just hot air. But, I read one comment that nobody else is talking about. If there were a border wall, would U.S. citizens be denied access to the Rio Grande? No one has asked Trump about that. T
Epicatt2 0
[snip] If there were a border wall, would U.S. citizens be denied access to the Rio Grande? No one has asked Trump about that. Mmmmm.... very good point, Tom. Pondering this ought to offer certain chumps a chalupa or two to chew on! (But oops, there I go, waxing pseudo-politic!) Cheers! tibas9 0
In viewing the nightly news from the USA for the last couple of days it looks like that Canada may need to start the Construction of that "Wall" sooner-than-later to keep-out the Invasion of discontents with the USA Election on November 8th. lucybelle 0
I absolutely adore the idea of USA citizens attempting to "flee" to Canada. I wish them well with obtaining residency (which none of them have thought about), finding jobs (which they are not more qualified for because they're from the USA), and adjusting to life in a completely different country. Idiots...
costaricafinca 0
Getting residency in Canada is more difficult in Canada than in Costa Rica...
tibas9 0
Getting residency in Canada is more difficult in Canada than in Costa Rica... It looks-like in the coming months that the Tico Migracion may be bombarded with Residency Applications from the North as it is a easier process than Canada. induna 0
But I think you all are forgetting that they can't take their guns with them to either Costa Rica or Canada, so those countries are both out. I think Mexico better be careful. Perhaps they'll try to annex Sonora or Chihuahua? Los Filibusteros Part II. Edited October 30, 2016 by induna
eleanorcr 0
I'm laughing at the folks in the US who are all upset about "socialism taking over" and talking about moving to Costa Rica. Duh.

Duh. So "Right ON"; low cost CAJA Medical plus Meds, Free Public Bus Rides for Seniors, etc.,etc.............and no requirement to speak decent Spanish. tibas9 0
If my Post#1 is right-on; I guess today many "H" and "T" supporters are preparing to pack-up their belongings depending on the outcome today of the politics up-North and heading North of the good old USA; OR; Maybe the Mexican and Ticoland "politicos" are also preparing to handle a very possible "US Invasion" from the North. Epicatt2 0
Just wondering how many of those who insisted that they would leave good ol' Unka Samland if their candidate did not win actually have current passports which would allow them to do depart for foreign shores. I'm curious, too, how many with that same intention who don't have pasports realize that they have to have one to follow thru with their emmigration. And if they all actually do apply for passsports how much of a lag-time is that going to create to receive a passport? Enquiring minds, and all that rot . . . eleanorcr 0
I have to wonder just how many who SAY they will emigrate will actually DO SO. Most people who strongly oppose whoever is elected will find that their daily life won't change that much. And although they may be disgusted, it takes some compelling reasons to leave when one has a family (who may or may not want to move), a house/mortgage, a job, etc. Edited November 8, 2016 by eleanorcr
SEATURTLEWOMAN 0
I agree with you, Eleanor. People say they will leave, but once they look into it, they won't. There's too much involved with an international move.
eleanorcr 0
After the US Presidential election in 1972, I started packing some boxes for a move to Canada. My husband walked in, holding our 3-month old baby, and said to me: "Have you lost your mind? I'm not moving ANYWHERE!" And that was that.
