  1. As so often happens, a friend from (long ago) asked for suggestions on their trip, with several couples, to Costa Rica. "What beaches are the best beaches? It looks and sounds like we want to stay on the Pacific side… part of us want a hotel with night life and discos and part want the quieter areas…" My normal beach recommendation is Manuel Antonio, although I haven't been in quite awhile so I don't know the hotels (or the night life)...to suggest. Can anyone speak from recent experience? It has been 20+ years since I was in Tamarindo, so could anyone up there compare that with Manuel Antonio? Hotels? Night life? To make it even tougher, since they're several couples they also asked about all-inclusive options (no clue) and airbnb/vrbo to rent a house (possibly with a cook)... If anyone has suggestions, I'll happily pass them on. Thanks!
  2. I am planning on spending a couple of days up that way. Can anyone recommend a hotel located in town? I'll be taking the bus there so I will be on foot. Thus the nearby hot spring hotels are not really suitable. None of the search sites are showing anything in town. There must be at least a couple of tico hotels.
