  1. Hi everyone, This deserves its own thread, I believe. A neighbor just received an unpleasant surprise when she went to renew her Caja this morning. She's her spouse's dependent and was told that she has to reapply using her own income. Pensionados, they have lived here for more than five years. She will find out the damage tomorrow. Another friend, who's also lived here for some time, also had to renew very recently and had the same thing happen to them. They arrived with a lawyer, but it made no difference. Their Caja more than doubled, despite their income being unchanged. On another thread, Jamie (married to a Tico) posted about her similar experience as a por vinculo spouse. It would be interesting to hear about others' experiences. I don't recall hearing anything about this change anywhere on ARCR until after it happened. Have you or someone you know been affected by this change? Were you able to do anything to reduce your Caja? Any information would be appreciated! regards, Gayle
